Your application will time out soon

Before you start

You’ll need:

  • the UK address where you are registered to vote
  • your National Insurance number or other identity documents, for example a passport
  • the specific date of the election or referendum you want to make a postal vote, if you only want a one-off postal vote
  • an image of your signature written with a pen during this application

Your signature must:

  • be signed in black ink on plain white paper
  • look the same as it normally does
  • not be written with a stylus or finger on a screen
You might find it easier to prepare an image now, or apply on a mobile phone with a camera.

Get help uploading a signature image

If you cannot provide a signature or one that always looks the same, you can apply for a signature waiver within the service. Your electoral registration office will decide if you’re eligible.

If you cannot upload an image, download and fill in a postal vote application form (opens in a new tab).
