Before you start
You’ll need:
- the UK address where you are registered to vote
- your National Insurance number or other identity documents, for example a passport
- the specific date of the election or referendum you want to make a postal vote, if you only want a one-off postal vote
- an image of your signature written with a pen during this application
Your signature must:
- be signed in black ink on plain white paper
- look the same as it normally does
- not be written with a stylus or finger on a screen
Get help uploading a signature image
If you cannot provide a signature or one that always looks the same, you can apply for a signature waiver within the service. Your electoral registration office will decide if you’re eligible.
